Mengesdorf seeking to improve form

Gravity driver David Mengesdorf has had a difficult start to his Formula BMW Europe campaign this season. Currently tenth in the series standings after three rounds, one point adrift from his Eifelland Racing team mate Jazeman Jaafar, Mengesdorf is determined to improve his form as soon as the next round – his home race – scheduled at the Nürburgring July 10th-12th.
At Silverstone, during qualifying, Mengesdorf struggled with his understeering car, ending the session 14th. “. The track was fairly dirty after the GP2 race but I still got off to a pretty good start and actually moved up to 10th after five laps before crossing the line 9th. It wasn’t a bad race and the car felt better and I also felt more confident about moving up the running order from now on."
Unfortunately, on Sunday, the young German finished well down the order after suffering from a broken front wing, the result of a close encounter with an overly aggressive rival. “It’s a pity because the car felt good, but it was just one of those unavoidable incidents.”
